Kinship | Single?

Kinship is a community of singles within Mars Hill Church, knowing culture, loving people, and seeing lives transformed to live for Jesus.
What is Kinship?
Kinship is a fun, safe, no-pressure environment where singles can hang out and let down our guard, meet new people, or just spend time with friends. It’s a place where anyone from any background, age group, or cultural context can feel at home.
At Kinship, we’re all about Jesus and all about building relationships.
Why Kinship?
Married couples have their own unique set of issues, so they generally seek friends among other married couples. But singles need deep friendships, too.
We need friends to hold us accountable, to pray with us, and to do life with us. Without them we’re vulnerable to spiritual attack, loneliness, and disconnectedness.
Is this just a clever attempt to marry me off?
Nope. This is about community. There’s nothing wrong with people meeting and dating, but that isn’t our focus.
In Kinship, there is no pressure, no awkward set-ups, and no treating singles like being single is a disease and marriage is the cure. Kinship is run by singles, led by singles, and the events are planned and operated by singles.
Let’s face it – Mars Hill is a big church with multiple services, so it’s easy for new, single people to get lost in the crowd. But Kinship has a safe, low-key, welcoming environment. It provides opportunities to create long-term friendships and bonds on a deeper level than nodding “what’s up” on Sunday.
Get Connected!
Kinship meets about once each month for events and activities like concerts, barbecues, preaching and teaching events, trivia night, and cruises. We’ve even had a St. Patty’s Day festival and a summer luau where we roasted a 165-pound pig!
